HALL OF HONOR
Tara McLaughlin finished her collegiate career as one of the most decorated women's track performers in school history. She earned a total of six varsity letters in track and three in cross country, while missing her junior season with an injury. In track, McLaughlin owned team season bests in 13 different events, and established school records in the 1500-run, 800-meters and 500-meters. During the indoor season, she was the 1993 Patriot League 400-meter champion and 1995 Patriot League 500-meter champion. Her outdoor career featured the 1993 Patriot League 800-meter championship with a meet record, and in 1995 second place finishes in the 1500- run and 400-meter races. McLaughlin, who served as team co-captain in 1994-95, was named Colgate's Outstanding Freshman Performer in 1992, and later was named Colgate's Outstanding Performer in 1993 and 1995. In her sophomore season, she finished fourth in the 500-meter run at the women's ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships breaking her own school record with a time of 1:14.50. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll four times and was an ECAC Merit Medal winner in 1994. McLaughlin was co-captain of the 1994 cross country squad, and was named the Most Improved Performer in 1993.
