HALL OF HONOR
Ernie Vandeweghe was named to the All-America basketball squads in 1947, 1948 and 1949. During his collegiate career he broke several Colgate scoring records: points in one season, career average and points in one game. He had 1,404 points in four seasons for a career average of 19.1 in 73 games. Vandeweghe was the MVP in the 1946 East-West All-Star game at Madison Square Garden as a freshman and played in the same classic again in 1949. He was captain of the 1947-48 squad and co-captain in 1948-49. After college, he played professional basketball with the New York Knickerbockers 1949-56.
