HALL OF HONOR
Kelly Tyrrell was a four-year letterwinner in soccer. She lettered as a goalie in 1996-97-98-99, while serving as co-captain in 1999. Twice during her standout career, she was named to the all-Northeast Region third team by National Soccer Coaches Association of America (1997 and 1998). She was a first team all-Patriot League selection in 1997, 98 and 99, and named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 1999. In addition, she was the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s soccer in 1999. During her career she was three-time Colgate MVP, while leading Colgate to four Patriot League titles, one ECAC championship, and three straight NCAA Tournament berths. Tyrrell led the league’s goalkeepers during both her freshman and sophomore campaigns, not allowing a single goal in conference play. She was responsible for 10.5 of Colgate’s 11 shutouts during her rookie season, which set a Colgate record. In her senior season she made a single season school record 187 saves. For her career she appeared in 80 games posting a 54-21-5 record with a 1.24 goals against average, 599 saves, an .856 save percentage, and a school record 31 shutouts. Later she spent six seasons as assistant coach at Colgate.
