HALL OF HONOR
Gavin McCarney finished his career as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Colgate football history. McCarney holds several single-game and season career records within the program, including most yards gained in a game (512) and in a season (3,778). McCarney concluded his prolific career ranked fifth in career passing and third in career offense. As a junior in 2012, he was named Second Team All-American by The Sports Network and Third Team All-American by the Associated Press after leading the Raiders to the first round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs. McCarney also earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All Patriot-League, and was named to the First-Team ECAC Division I-AA/FCS All-Stars. During his career, McCarney recorded 12 100-yard rush games and 15 200-yard passing games. He was a three-time recipient of the program’s Andy Kerr Trophy, given to Colgate’s most valuable offensive player.
