HALL OF HONOR
Karl Kluckhohn was a superb three-sport athlete at Colgate. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. As an end on the football team, he was a Red Raider record holder of the single-season pass-catching record from 1951-79. His 45 catches in 1951 was an Eastern Intercollegiate Association record, as well as his 616 yards receiving. That same year Kluckhohn earned first-team United Press International All-East honors and Collier’s All-East honorable mention. In baseball he led Colgate in hitting as a junior (.432) and senior (.453). Following college, he signed a professional baseball contract as an outfielder with the Detroit Tigers. Kluckhohn was also drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
