Marv Hubbard was a three-year letterwinner on Colgate’s football team and led the team in rushing in 1965 (665 yards) and 1966 (893 yards). During the 1966 season, he ranked 13th in the nation in rushing and he totaled 88 points which was the sixth highest total in the country. At the time of his graduation, his 893 yards rushing in 1966 was the second best in the school’s history. When he finished his career, he was the second leading rusher in Colgate history with 1,887 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was an 11th round selection of the Oakland Raiders in 1968.In his fourth season he set what was then a single-season rushing record of 1,100 yards. He played with the Raiders from 1969-75 and rushed for 4,394 yards and 22 touchdowns and then played with the Detroit Lions in 1977. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1971, ‘72 and ‘73.
