“Oc” Anderson was named to the first team Walter Camp All-America football team as a quarterback in 1916. A lightweight quarterback, he was considered by experts to be one of the greatest forward passers of his era. In his four years as quarterback, Colgate had a record of 23-5- 2. He also was captain of the 1920 basketball team and lettered in track while running the 100 and 220-yard dash.
