Bob Relph was the starting quarterback for two of the more highly successful seasons in school history. Under the tutelage of head coach Fred Dunlap, he guided the Raiders to a combined record of 18-3 for the 1976 and 1977 seasons. In his senior year, Relph led Colgate to the first 10-win season in school history, a national ranking in the Associated Press Division I poll and the top offensive team in Division I, averaging 486.1 yards per game. The Raiders were voted the ECAC Division I Team of the Year, and Relph was named honorable mention all-East by the Associated Press. He set nine personal records and was voted corecipient of the Andy Kerr Trophy, given to the team’s offensive MVP. He completed 54 percent of his passes for 3,688 career yards and 31 touchdowns.
