Belford West Is generally regarded as the finest football player ever produced at Colgate. His feats as a tackle on the 1915-16 and 1919 elevens are legendary, earning his selection twice on Walter Camp’s All America teams and leading to his selection to the National Football Hall of Fame in 1954. West played professional football for one year with the Canton Bulldogs.
