Colgate University Athletics

Andrea Basztura-Rubin was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey (1992-95) and softball (1993-96). In field hockey, she was named Colgate’s outstanding defensive player in 1994 helping Colgate earn a berth in the ECAC Division I Tournament and the following season the team’s first appearance in the Patriot League Tournament. Basztura was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic squad in 1994 and 1995. In softball, Basztura was first team all-Patriot League in 1993, 1994 and 1996 at second base. In her senior season she shared the team’s co-most valuable player honors. In addition, she was named to the CoSIDA Academic District I All-Academic team and was named the Patriot League’s Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year. Her performance on the field earned her a spot on the Patriot League’s All-Decade Team (1990-99).
