Jack Schulze earned six varsity letters in track, four in the outdoor season, and two in the indoor season. In 1949, he was a member of Colgate’s mile-relay team that won the Class B title at the Penn Relays, during which he tied the school record for the quarter mile with a time of 43 seconds. During the 1948 season, Schulze broke the school record in the 220- yard dash in a meet against Penn State with a time of 21 seconds - a record that stood for 19 years. He also was a competitor in the highlyregarded IC4A meet, where he placed sixth in the 100 and 220-yard events. During his career he had 30 victories out of 32 starts in the 100 and 220-yard dashes.
