HALL OF HONOR
Donna Carter was the first Colgate woman athlete to win All-America honors. As a freshman swimmer, she set two individual Colgate records, set three team records in relays, won both the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke in the state finals and captured the top position in the Eastern championships in the 50-yard breaststroke. She capped the 1977 season with an eighth place in the 50-yard breaststroke at the AIAW Nationals for All-America honors. As a sophomore, she came back to earn All-America honors in four events at the AIAW Small College championships. In two seasons, she helped the Red Raiders swim team post a 23-0 dual meet record. Just prior to her untimely death in her junior year, she collected four medals in the Swiss National Student Meet.
