Kelly Robinson was a three-year letterwinner with the Red Raider football team (1979-80-81). He played defensive end. In his senior year he was first team all-Eastern College Athletic Conference and honorable mention Associated Press all-East (Division I). Robinson was named the winner of the Hal W. Lahar Trophy, given annually to Colgate's most valuable defensive player. He led Colgate with eight quarterback sacks to bring his career total to 28.5 - the most ever by a Colgate player since that statistic started to be compiled. As a junior he was first team all-ECAC and as a junior and sophomore he was honorable mention Associated Press all-East.
