Frank Castleman was one of the first great all-around athletes in Colgate history. He lettered in football, track and baseball. His running during the early 1900s helped the Red Raider football teams make their first surge into the national spotlight. In track, he hung up four Colgate records, all of which stood for at least 20 years. He set marks of 10 seconds in the 100-yard dash; 21.6 seconds in the 220; 24.8 seconds in the 220-yard low hurdles and 15.8 seconds in the 120-yard high hurdles. Castleman was captain of the baseball team in his senior year. He later had 30 years of service as head coach of track at Ohio State.
