Anne Arries was an accomplished tennis player who played number one singles all four years of her collegiate career. She finished her career with an amazing 39-4 record. In her first two seasons she was undefeated (19-0) without losing a set. As an unseeded freshman she got to the finals of the New York State Intercollegiate Tournament. Appearing in the New York State Tournament, Arries won the singles title in 1976, was runner-up in 1974, and took third place in 1975 and 1977. Overall she led her team to three New York State Championships including an undefeated 12-0 season in 1975.
