HALL OF HONOR
Bob Gillson won three varsity letters as a star lineman on the Red Raider eleven. He played two seasons of professional football with the Brooklyn Dodgers and served as football line coach at Middlebury College for one year before joining the Colgate staff under Andy Kerr in 1933 as line coach. In 1940, he was assigned the duties of supervisor of freshman athletics at Colgate and held the position from 1940-42, and again after his naval service from 1946-47. Then he was appointed line coach by Paul Bixler in 1947. Gillson was Colgate’s wrestling coach from the 1935-36 season through 1941-42, and again from 1946-48.Â
