Track and Field Competes in Ithaca and Boston

Raiders Bring Home Nine Top Finishes

HAMILTON – The men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Upstate Challenge and The Track at New Balance Collegiate Showdown on Saturday

"Really strong start to the season. This type of momentum this early is not only setting the tone for the future but also setting the standard for our program. Across the board this team is putting our program back on map and getting well-earned recognition and respect. Loved seeing so many families and alumni come out to support - it's building to be a special season."

Upstate Challenge

WOMEN

Juliet Drury placed eighth in the mile run.

Chloe Schiller and Isabel Slippen finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 1000m run.

MEN

Liam Burgess placed fourth in the 3000m run with a time of 9:29.94.

Andrew Sullivan and Mason Telatnik posted eighth and ninth place finishes in the mile run.

The Track at New Balance Collegiate Showdown

WOMEN

Clare Gillis won the 200m dash with a time of 24.98. Gillis also took home the silver in the 60m dash with a blazing 7.76s.

Sara Tabibian took home the gold in the 400m dash posting a 59.15s dash. Tabibian also finished third in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line at 26.12.

Melinda Haagensen brought back Colgate's third top finish at the meet, placing first in the pole vault with a 3.60m vault.

Ashley Crane locked in a podium finish in the 800m run placing third with a time of 2:23.78. Mia Jilani finished right behind Crane in fourth place.

Nell Droege came just a second short of the top spot in the 3000m run finishing with a time of 10:01.52. Droege has continued to shine in her first year as a Raider. Fellow first year Lucy Pew finished right behind Droege in third place with a time of 10:34.86. Kara Shepard, Ava Kletti, and Taylor Mitchell rounded out the top six.

Kiran George finished fifth in the 60m hurdles.

The group of Mia Jilani, Linden Cafcules, Ashley Crane, and June Nathan took home the silver in the 4x400m relay.

MEN

Ethan Eisner broke the school record in the 400m dash posting a time of 48.39s. This was enough to give Eisner the gold in the 400m dash. Eisner also placed third in the 200m dash with a time of 21.64s. Simon Connors finished just behind Eisner in fourth.

Dakin Ebmeyer won the 800m run with a time of 1:55.59. Liam Davis, Jack Gabrielle, Finn Kosich, and Josh Myers rounded out the top six spots for the Raiders.

Ben Horner earned first place in the mile run crossing the finish line at 4:20.00. Tyler Ferlise finished just behind him with a time of 4:23.16. Tyler Robinson and Nick Larson finished out the top five in the mile run.

Owen Holland took home gold in the 3000m run with a time of 8:32.27. Will Keiser placed second right behind Holland with a time of 8:32.56. Owen McMorrow, Andrew McGraw, and Owen Dematt rounded out the top five finishers in the 3000m run.

Ben Horner, Josh Myers, Jack Gabrielle, and Dakin Ebmeyer finished second in the 4x400m relay. They were able to edge out fellow Raiders, Will Terry, Finn Kosich, Tyler Ferlise, and Liam Davis who finished third in the event.

Samuel Epstein won the gold in the pole vault with a vault of 4.60m.

Cole Blair won his second straight long jump event with a leap of 7.17m.

UP NEXT
The Raiders head to New York, N.Y. to compete at the Columbia Dr. Sander Scorcher Invitational. The meet is scheduled for next Friday and Saturday.
