Blair Set For NCAA East First Round

Senior looks to qualify for NCAA Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Cole Blair will represent Colgate at the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field NCAA East Preliminary Round hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. from May 28-31.

The senior will compete in the long jump after qualifying with a 7.60m leap at the Patriot League Championships, which saw Blair become the first student-athlete to win four consecutive long jump titles since the Patriot League began sponsoring track and field in 1991.

Blair, a six-time long jump Patriot League champion, will compete in his second career NCAA East Preliminary Round after posting a 16th place finish in the long jump in 2023. The top 12 finishers in the long jump will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. scheduled for June 11-14.

COLE BLAIR'S COMMENTS
"The Patriot League brings great competition every year, and we've seen strong competition throughout our travels across the East Coast, but NCAA East Regionals is on another level. What makes Regionals different is that it brings all of those standouts together. You are going up against Olympians, All-Americans, and the best in the country. There are 48 athletes in every event, all at the top of their game. Only in this environment does it truly bring out the best of your ability. Everyone is chasing the same goal, which is to finish in the top 12 and advance to Nationals in Oregon. That is my goal. I ended my freshman year there at the U-20 Championships, and I want to end my senior year and athletic career in that same place."
