A 2025 graduate of Seton Hall Prep, Coakley was a three-year varsity member…helped the Pirates win the New Jersey Non-Public State Championship (2025), New Jersey Kirst Cup State Championship (2025), and two-time Essex County Championship (2024, 2025).

Coakley on why he chose Colgate: "What led me to choose Colgate was my experience watching a team practice on my initial recruiting visit. The compete level was some of the highest I’ve ever seen in any sport, on any team, in my life. The players were absolutely getting after each other. I knew after this that Colgate was the place for me. Also, Colgate has unbelievable academics coupled with an amazing alumni network."
