Caleb Naumann have been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, following the Raiders' 28-21 win at No. 22 Villanova last Saturday.
Price earned his second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Raiders in tackles (9), tackles for loss (2.5), and sacks (1.5). He recorded five solo stops among his nine tackles, leading a physical defensive effort in rain-soaked conditions.
The senior captain anchored a defensive unit that limited the Wildcats to 260 yards of total offense while forcing two takeaways. He delivered a critical sack and tackle for loss in the second half, sparking a defensive lockdown that allowed Colgate to score 14 unanswered points in the third quarter.
Battling through the elements, Naumann protected the football while posting career highs in rushing attempts (25) and rushing yards (66) and scoring his first career touchdown. He opened Colgate's scoring with a six-yard burst that tied the game at 7-7 in the first quarter.
Naumann carried the ball eight times on Colgate's final drive in the fourth quarter, driving the Raiders deep into Villanova territory while running seven minutes off the clock to help seal the seven-point victory.
Price and Naumann led Colgate to its first win over Villanova since 1978 and the program's first victory over a ranked opponent since November 2023.
With Naumann's award, Colgate has now received at least one weekly honor across every category this season. Price claimed his second defensive honor in the last three weeks, and the Raiders have produced at least one honoree in four of the first five weeks of the campaign.
