BALTIMORE, Md. — Colgate went on a 10-0 run in the first half to pull away from Loyola and earn an 18-6 victory in its Patriot League opener Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Loyola took a 3-1 lead early in the first, with Casey Quinson netting the Raiders' goal at the 9:35 mark.
- Colgate then went on a 10-0 run, starting with three straight to end the first quarter. Hunter Drouin put one in with 5:02 remaining, and Sam Erickson fired one home 15 seconds later. Jack Turner then found the back of the net with 2:50 left.
- Quinson and Turner notched their second goals, making it 6-3 Raiders just over two minutes into the second.
- Liam Connor and Turner added tallies to make it a five-goal game (8-3) with 10:28 remaining.
- Rory Connor fired in back-to-back goals 32 seconds apart. Ryan Favaro topped off the run, finding the back of the net with 2:50 left to put the score at 11-3.
- Following a Loyola tally, the Raiders went on another run. L. Connor got his second just under three minutes in, and Kyle Rummel won the pursuing faceoff and took it to the house.
- Tommy Arata lll and Casey Quinson topped off the third quarter scoring.
- The Raiders ended the fourth on a 3-0 run to push its advantage to 12 at 18-6. Andrew Keifer netted his first career goal, Quinson notched his fourth, and Luke Knezovic also notched the first of his career.
- Matt LaCombe stopped six shots in the first to help the Raiders take the lead. He then allowed just one goal in each of the final three quarters.
GAME NOTES
- L. Connor led the team in assists (5) and points (7). He tied his career-high in helpers and points for the third time this season.
- Quinson tallied season-highs in goals (4) and points (5), Jack Turner also registered five points (3G, 2A) and surpassed the 100-career point mark.
- John Carrabine logged three caused turnovers and scooped up six ground balls. Thomas Lala and Quinson also posted three caused turnovers.
- Max Yates scooped up six ground balls and logged one turnover, while Sam Erickson collected five GBs and caused one turnover.
- Rummel went 9-of-18 from the faceoff 'X'.
- LaCombe finished with 16 saves after stopping five in the fourth quarter.
