DiPaolo Records Hat Trick in 6-4 victory at Princeton

Brett Chorske scores twice, including game-winner late in third period

HAMILTON — Alex DiPaolo recorded a hat trick in a four-point performance and Brett Chorske logged three points, including the game-winning goal, helping the Raiders to a 6-4 victory at Princeton Saturday evening.

COACH HARDER'S COMMENTS

"Another hard fought contest. Our group responded really well to the challenge tonight. It was a lot of fun to win in front of a lot of New Jersey alum support."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • DiPaolo completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal with nine seconds left in the third.
  • Chorske's game-winner came just over two minutes prior. DiPaolo hit the puck down the ice, which got collected by Max Nagel, who played it back to Chorske for a one-timer he hammered home from the right faceoff dot.
  • Following back-to-back Princeton goals from David Jacobs, DiPaolo netted his second of the game to tie the score at 4-4 with 11:03 left in the third. Tommy Bergsland and Owen Neuharth picked up assists.
  • Chorske put Colgate ahead 3-2 at the 16:24 mark of the second. After receiving a pass from Bergsland, he fired a shot that got saved. It took a lucky bounce on the top netting of the goal before hitting off the goalie's chest and falling into the back of the net.
  • DiPaolo made it a 2-2 game just under two and a half minutes into the middle frame, finding the back of the net as time expired on a power play. One-touch passing between Bergsland, Chorske, and DiPaolo led to an open shot that he slammed into the goal.
  • Kai Greaves had knotted the score at 1-1 with 2:34 left in the first. Just over two minutes later, Kevin Anderson gave Princeton a 2-1 lead.
  • Daniel Panetta notched the game's first goal just under five and a half minutes into the first. Ben Raymond stole the puck away in the neutral zone before skating down the ice on a two-on-one breakaway and dishing it to Panetta for a shot he finished from right in front.
  • The Raiders killed off two Princeton penalties during the opening period.
GAME NOTES
  • Andrew Takacs stopped 26 shots in net.
  • DiPaolo's hat trick was the first of his career. He finished with a career-high four points.
  • Chorske recorded his second two-goal performance and second three-point game of the season.
  • Nagel and Bergsland each recorded two helpers. Nagel also extended his point streak to seven games.
  • Raymond is now riding a four-game point streak.
  • The Raiders have won seven-straight games over Princeton and are 9-0-1 in their last 10 contest.
