ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Kristýna Kaltounková knocked in two goals,
Elyssa Biederman and
Emma Pais tallied a pair of assists each, and
Avery Pickering added a helper and a score in No. 6/7 Colgate's dominant 5-1 road victory against RIT on Friday night. Five additional Raiders contributed a tally in the romp, including
Jaimee Spring's first point of the 2024-25 season.
"It was a hard-fought game in a pretty hostile rink," head coach Stefan Decosse said. "It's a loud rink and their pep band is sensational. I thought RIT competed incredibly hard. It was a good game and it's going to set up for quite the matchup tomorrow afternoon."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate started strong in Rochester, preventing the home side from possessing the puck inside their offensive zone for the first four minutes of action. After a dominant opening 10 minutes, Pickering cashed in for Colgate by sliding a put through traffic from the point for the first goal of the night.
Kaltounkova doubled the lead with an even-strength snipe three minutes later, and Hannah Murphy made two excellent saves on an RIT power play to cap the period and send the Raiders into the first break up two.
Colgate seemingly took its foot off the gas after an early Malachino goal 30 seconds into the second stanza, and the visitor's were being outshot 7-2 to open the middle period.
The Raiders regrouped with an impressive power play that saw shots off the blade of Biederman, Kaltounklova and
Neena Brick from point blank range saved by RIT goalie.
Conversely, two Tiger power plays were killed with ease as Colgate only conceded one shot on goal during the four minutes of disadvantage, 30 seconds of which consisted of 3-5 play with overlapping Raider stays in the box.
RIT would eventually score on a power play in the third, but Kaltounkova answered with her second score of the night with six minutes remaining. With under two minutes to play, Sara Stewart would go on to calmly dangle between Tiger defenders before depositing a puck backhand into the net that cemented the 5-1 Raider win.
