#4/5 Colgate Quiets #6 Quinnipiac, 5-0

13 different Raiders tally a point in fourth-straight win

Hamden, Conn. – A total of 13 different Raiders notched a point in Friday night's 5-0 victory against No. 6 Quinnipiac, led by sophomores Elyssa Biederman and Sydney Morrow who finished with two tallies apiece. The triumph handed the Bobcats their first loss of the season at home and secured a four-game winning streak for the No. 4 Raiders.

"Anytime you can get a win on the road against a talented opponent it feels good," assistant coach Breanne Wilson-Bennett said. "It was definitely a great team win. It was nice to spread the wealth and now a lot of players have a lot of confidence moving forward."

First-year Madeline Palumbo kicked off the lamp-lighting party by scoring her third goal in as many games midway through the first period. Neena Brick picked up a secondary assist by winning the faceoff in the Colgate defensive zone which kicked out to Gwen Eichfeld near center ice. She poked the puck down the right side where Palumbo was able to track it down and beat the goalie five-hole for the Raiders' first point of the night.

In the second frame, the NCAA points leader Kristýna Kaltounková dug deep in her bag of tricks for Colgate's second goal, faking a pass right before spinning back left and firing another shot between the goalie's legs. Dara Greig scored the only other goal of the second, dancing between multiple Bobcat defenders before finding nylon in the top left corner for her 11th goal of the season.

Colgate kept the momentum rolling into the final stanza thanks to a five-minute major on Quinnipiac's Maya Labad that allowed the Raiders to score twice in quick succession. The sequence silenced the home crowd and effectively put the game out of reach when Biederman converted a power play goal courtesy of some precision passing from Sydney Bard and Kaitlyn O'Donohoe

While it will not be counted as a power play goal in the box score, Danielle Serdachny's 14th goal of the season came just as Labad was leaving the box, putting the Raiders up by five early in the third.

Kayle Osborne took it from there, making five of her 19 saves in the closing minutes to seal her fifth shutout of the season and Colgate's first win in Hamden in two years.
