Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey | | Quinn Schmidt

Bard Breaks 100 in 6-0 Shutout of #12 Princeton

Two goals from Emma Pais and Sydney Bard’s 100th career point enough to push Colgate past Princeton

Princeton, N.J.Fifth-year Sydney Bard racked up four points, including the 100th of her career, and first-year Emma Pais contributed three tallies in No. 4/5 Colgate's commanding win against No. 12 Princeton on the road.

"Scoring my 100th point is pretty cool but I have to give it up to my teammates because that doesn't come alone," Bard said. "We faced some adversity today with all the penalties but we were able to push through and get the win."

Entering the game at 99 career points, Bard made sure to hit the milestone early by picking up an assist on a Dara Greig power play goal at the 3:09 mark of the first period.

Colgate tacked on another in the middle frame after Bard fed Sydney Morrow in the left faceoff circle who buried a one-timer above the goalie's blocker.

Through 40 minutes, Colgate held a 2-0 lead in a game that felt much closer than the score indicated. The Tigers were dominating long spells of possession which allowed them to outshoot the Raiders 21-17 through two.

Hannah Murphy, who was recently named to the Women's Goalie of the Year Watchlist, was up to the task, however, making 21 of her 30 total saves in the opening two periods.

The offense took over from there, pouring in four third-period goals to squander any hope at a Princeton comeback. Danielle Serdachny connected with Emma Pais twice in two minutes, with Serdachny effortlessly gliding between Tiger defenders before putting two pucks on a platter for Pais to tap in.

Bard went bar down for her second goal of the season putting the Raiders up 5-0, and Kas Betinol put the final nail in Princeton's coffin when she potted her eighth goal of the season off a rebounded Neena Brick shot.
