Raiders Claim Senior Day Victory

Danielle Serdachny Breaks Program Record

HAMILTON – Colgate women's ice hockey celebrated senior night with a 3-1 win over Brown in the Class of 1965 Arena Saturday afternoon.

Senior captain Danielle Serdachny broke history on the game's opening goal, as she recorded her 164th career point, the most in program history. Serdachny potted a goal and an assist for a team-high two points.

Hannah Murphy moved to 15-2-1 with her 19-save performance. Murphy holds a 1.46 goals-against average through 18 starts.

Kristýna Kaltounková scored her 19th goal of the season to open up Colgate's scoring. Fellow linemate Elyssa Biederman netted her 13th of the season on an empty net goal. Biederman is four points away from breaking the freshman program record for points in a season.

Serdachny and Neena Brick went 60 plus percent on the faceoff dot as Colgate won 26 of 46 draws.

Colgate opened up the scoring just 13 minutes into the first period as Kaltounková banged in the rubber out front, Brick and Serdachny tallied apples on the goal. The first period ended with a 1-0 score in favor of the Raiders.

Brown answered back five minutes into the second period after a miscommunication in the neutral zone by Colgate. The game remained 1-1 through the final 15 minutes of play, shots sat 22-16 in favor of the Raiders.

Colgate came out of the locker room for the third period on the power play as Brown was called for a five-minute boarding call late in the second period. The Raiders took full advantage of the man advantage as Serdachny netted her 19th of the season off a shot from the point, as she pushed the lead to 2-1. Biederman found the back of the net in the final two minutes of play as she scored on the empty cage. Colgate secured the 3-1 win and claimed the season series sweep.
