HAMILTON – Colgate women's ice hockey defeated No. 10/9 Cornell 9-3 in a Friday afternoon matchup in the Class of 1965 Arena.
Kristýna Kaltounková led the Raiders' with two goals and three assists for a total of five points. Kaltounková recorded her 48th and 49th career goals.
Danielle Serdachny collected her 150th career point in the game's opening goal. Serdachny also potted her 100th career assist in
Kaitlyn O'Donohoe's second goal of the game. The senior captain currently leads the team with 45 points.
Elyssa Biederman continued her point streak, recording one goal and three assists for four points. Biederman rides an eight-game point streak. The freshman forward is 10 points away from breaking the program record for most points in a freshman season.
O'Donohoe and
Kas Betinol potted three points apiece while seven other Raiders' found the scoresheet.
Hannah Murphy stopped 21 shots in net, bringing her record to 12-1 on the year. Murphy holds a 29-4 career record, sixth in program history.
Colgate capitalized on two power play opportunities, finding the back of the net midway through the first and third periods. O'Donohoe has scored three power-play goals throughout the season while fellow senior
Sydney Bard potted her second.
The Raiders' exploded for three goals in the first period, as they continued their strong performance into the second and third periods. The Raiders' piled on six more goals throughout the final 40 minutes of play.
