Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey | | Nicholas Rappuhn

Colgate Falls to No. 10/9 Cornell

50th Career Goal for Kaltounková

ITHACA, N.Y. – Colgate women's ice hockey split the season series with No.10/9 Cornell in a Saturday showdown at James Lynah Rink.

Elyssa Biederman continued her point streak to nine games with her 10th goal of the season, as she scored midway through the third.

Kristýna Kaltounková opened up the scoring with her 50th career goal, as she tipped it past the Big Red netminder off a shot from Danielle Serdachny. Allyson Simpson collected her 17th assist of the season on the play.

Cornell bounced back in the second period, scoring two quick back-to-back goals late. The Big Red carried the 2-1 lead into intermission. Colgate was outshot 20-14 through 40 minutes of play.

The third period raged on with an intense back-and-forth battle throughout the first 10 minutes of play before Kaltounková picked off a Big Red pass leading to a 2 on1 where freshman forward Biederman notched the game-tying goal with just under nine minutes to play.

Shortly after the Raiders' goal, Cornell powered in the go-ahead goal. The Big Red took their lead to the final buzzer, as they notched in an empty goal.

Colgate moved to 10-3 in the conference and 20-4-1 overall with the 4-2 loss.
