ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 19 Colgate men's ice hockey sophomore goaltender
Colton Point (North Bay, Ontario) notched 27 saves Friday night but the Raiders fell to the No. 4/4 Cornell Big Red, 2-0, at Lynah Rink.
The Raiders played a strong third period as they dominated much of the action and registered 10 shots on goal. Colgate nearly got on the board with about five minutes to go in the period as
Mike Panowyk (Whitby, Ontario) had a shorthanded rush but Cornell goaltender Matthew Galajda made the save before a collision.
Point shined between the pipes throughout the night as he turned away shot after shot for the Raiders, including several highlight reel saves. Point turned away a period-high nine shots in the first period.
Cornell got on the board with goals early in each of the first two periods from Anthony Angello. The Big Red took a 1-0 lead as Angello netted a breakaway goal 2:40 into the game. Angello added a second goal on the power play 43 seconds into the third period as he redirected Yanni Kaldis' shot from the point.

The Raiders were shutout for just the third time this season and are 10-9-4 (6-4-1 ECAC Hockey) following the loss while the Big Red improved to 15-2-1 (9-1-1 ECAC Hockey)
