Hamilton, N.Y.-
The Colgate women's ice hockey team welcomed Clarkson University to The Class of 1965 Arena tonight for an ECAC Hockey matchup. The third nationally ranked Golden Knights handed the Raiders a 5-2 loss.

The Raiders came out hot in the opening minutes of the first period. They set up a two-on-one situation that forced Shea Tiley to make a glove save less than one minute into the game.

Megan Sullivan (Toronto, Ont.) capitalized just over two minutes in when she stole a Clarkson clear attempt in the offensive zone, skated towards the goal and took a hard shot that sailed past the glove of Tiley.

With 11:16 on the clock, Julia Vandyk (Cambridge, Ont.) made a great glove save on a point blank shot from Loren Gabel to keep the Raiders up 1-0.

The Golden Knights upped the pressure as the period went on and were able to tie the game at 1-1 with just over three minutes remaining. Michaela Pejzlova managed to sneak the puck over the shoulder of Vandyk to net the equalizer.

Clarkson took their first lead of the game less than four minutes into the second frame on a goal from Kelly Mariani.

Cayley Mercer put the Golden Knights up, 3-1 with just over five minutes remaining in the second.

The first half of the final period saw Clarkson continue to apply constant offensive pressure. They put a fourth tally on the board from Cassidy Vinkle with 7:34 left on the clock.

With time winding down in regulation, Colgate pulled Vandyk for the extra attacker. The Golden Knights managed to get the puck and skate down for an empty net goal to make the score 5-1 in their favor.

The Raiders wouldn't go down without a fight however, as they netted a power play goal with just over two minutes to be played. Bailey Larson (Sycamore, Ill.) took a shot from the side of the net that slid through the legs of Tiley. Shae Labbe (Calgary, Alta.) and Cat Quirion (Lac-Megantic, Que.) dished out the assists.

Netminder Vandyk made 26 stops in net for Colgate, while Tiley recorded 23 saves.
