Colgate Blanks Harvard, 4-0

Nine Raiders recorded points during the victory, including three players with a multi-point game.

Cambridge, Mass. -  The Colgate Raiders traveled to Harvard University for an ECAC Hockey matchup and netted four unanswered goals as they shutout the Crimson, 4-0. 

The Raiders' shutout against the Crimson is its first in program history while the Raiders also set a first against the Crimson with their first win at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Colgate has played 35 games against Harvard with 16 of them coming in Cambridge.

Megan Sullivan put the Raiders up in the opening minutes of the game. Earning assists on the play were Shae Labbe and Shelby Perry.

With just over five minutes left in the first period, Anonda Hoppner netted her fifth goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0. Bailey Larson took an initial shot on net that rebounded off the pad of Crimson goalie Beth Larcom. Hoppner collected the puck and one-timed it past Larcom. Kaila Pinkney was also credited with an assist on the goal.

Pinkney picked up her second point of the night when she scored her first goal of the season in the second period. Meghan Brennan kicked the puck up to the blue line, where Pinkney sent a rocket of a shot straight into the back of the net. Breanne Wilson-Bennett was credited with the secondary assist.

Labbe also recorded a multi-point game when she netted the fourth goal of the game within the first five minutes of the final period. Sullivan and Livia Altmann earned the assists.

Julia Vandyk had 25 saves in between the pipes for Colgate. Larcom and Molly Tissenbaum split time in the net and made 13 and 11 stops, respectively.

With the victory, Vandyk is now the program leader of wins in a season with 15. She is also one shutout away from tying the record for most shutouts in a season, which stands at five.
