Wilson-Bennett, Brennan Score vs. Princeton

Colgate Drops 4-2 Decision to ECAC Foe

HAMILTON – Despite goals from Breanne Wilson-Bennett and Meghan Brennan, the Colgate women's hockey team fell Saturday afternoon 4-2 to Princeton.

The Tigers pulled ahead early creating a two-goal lead after the opening period. Wilson-Bennett's second career marker, however, gave the Raiders life by cutting the advantage to 2-1 just a little more than six minutes into the middle frame.

Princeton answered, though, later in that period to push their edge to 4-1 and although Brennan's first career goal in the third period gave the Raiders a spark, they were unable to close the deficit.

Colgate outshot the Tigers 31-23, including a game-high 16 shots in the middle frame.

Neither team was able to convert on the power play with Colgate going 0-for-4 and Princeton 0-for-6 on the man-up opportunity.

The Raiders are back in Starr Rink on Friday hosting Penn State for a two-game set. Friday's contest is set for 7 p.m.
