THE SERIES WITH NJIT
This will be the first ever meeting between Colgate and NJIT. The Highlanders have played two Patriot League teams this season and own a 2-0 record. NJIT topped Army 54-53 in West Point, before dominating Lafayette 78-58 at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

LAST TIME OUT
Three Raiders scored in double-figures but it wasn't enough as the Colgate men's basketball team fell to Holy Cross 76-60 Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center.

Junior guard Mitch Rolls scored 14 points to go along with two assists, two blocked shots and a steal to lead the Raiders, while senior guard Mike Venezia scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds. Senior forward Yaw Gyawu pitched in 12 points in 15 minutes of action, while classmate Nick Pascale scored seven.

Holy Cross shot 46.4 percent from the floor, including 8-of-20 from beyond the arc, while Colgate shot 37.3 percent overall and 8-of-22 from downtown. Holy Cross also won the battle on the boards 43-29, but Colgate distributed 16 assists while only turning the ball over a season low five times, for the second-straight game.

SCOUTING NJIT (9-11, 2-2 GWC)
Utah Valley dominated several key aspects of Saturday night's Great West Conference men's basketball game with visiting NJIT and the result was a decisive 81-58 victory for the Wolverines, who won their sixth straight game.

NJIT, which lost the first leg of its weekend trip, 80-63 at North Dakota on Thursday is now 2-2 in the Great West and 9-11 overall, including a 1-10 mark away from home, with eight consecutive road losses.

Neither team shot a high percentage from the floor overall, as victorious Utah Valley shot just over 40 percent (41.4) on 24-for-58 and NJIT was under 40 percent (37.5) on 24-for-64. However, UVU hit 11 of its 24 attempts from 3-point distance (45.8 percent), while the Highlanders, normally a dangerous team from distance, were a dismal 4-for-20.

NJIT, which has gotten consistent scoring lately from its top two offensive threats, senior forward Isaiah Wilkerson and junior guard Chris Flores, again got good numbers from those two against Utah Valley. Wilkerson led the Highlanders with 19 points, followed by 17 from Flores, but the other eight Highlanders who played, combined for 22 points.

VENEZIA HONING IN ON 1,000 POINTS
Colgate senior Mike Venezia is just 47 points (953) away from becoming the 29th Raider to join the 1,000-point club. Venezia has scored in double-figures in seven of the last 10 games and is averaging 11.3 points per game during that time.

ROH-ING UP THE MINUTES
Freshman guard Luke Roh has gradually been accumulating more minutes of playing time over the last month of action and during that time has more than doubled his performance on the court. In the first 13 games of the season Roh averaged 1.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 16 minutes of action. Over the last seven games Roh has averaged 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 23 minutes of action.

500-500-100 CLUB
Colgate senior Nick Pascale is closing in on becoming just the fifth Raider in school history to score 500 or more points, grab 500 or more rebounds and block 100 or more shots in a career. Pascale currently has 547 points, 512 rebounds and 97 blocked shots.

ROLLS SHARING THE ROCK
Colgate junior guard Mitch Rolls recently entered the top-10 all-time at Colgate with 256 assists. Rolls has distributed 50 helpers this season and is averaging 2.4 per game, which ranks 13th in the Patriot League. Rolls currently ranks seventh all-time, just two helpers behind director of basketball operations Mark Linebaugh '04 (258) for sixth. Hassan Brown '94 holds the school record with 484 assists.

1,000 POINTS AND COUNTING

Colgate senior Mike Venezia has made a total of 180 three-pointers in his career that is fifth all-time at Colgate. Jon Simon '07 ranks fourth with 185 made three-pointers, while former teammate Kyle Roemer '10 holds the school record with 267.
