Robbie Bourdon scored his eighth goal of the year to tie Day and Brisebois for the team lead
BOX SCORE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (1/28/10) –
The Colgate men's hockey team scored first, but Harvard netted the next four goals and the Raiders couldn't recover in a 6-2 loss to the Crimson on Friday night.

Colgate (3-20-2, 0-11-2 ECAC) got goals from Robbie Bourdon and Francois Brisebois. Rookie Eric Mihalik earned the start in net, but was pulled after 30 minutes and three goals against. He made 10 saves in the game. Alex Evin replaced Mihalik and made nine saves in the final 30 minutes, giving up one goal.

Harvard (4-15-0, 3-11-0 ECAC) saw Danny Biega tally a hat trick, while Alex Killron posted three points with a goal and two assists. Michael Biega and Chris Huxley also chipped in three points with three helpers on the night. Ryan Carroll was tough to solve all night for the Raiders as he made 27 saves between the pipes.

Colgate jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a goal from Bourdon on an odd man rush with 12:13 left in the first. Nick Prockow shifted the puck over to Bourdon and he beat Carroll. Prockow and Chris Wagner were given assists on the play. Danny Biega tied it up shortly after on a rebound in front to make it 1-1. Brother Michael Biega was given an assist on the score. The goal came just 13 seconds after the Raiders took a 1-0 advantage.

Harvard made it two straight goals with a minute left in the first on a 2-on-1 break. Colgate gave the puck up and didn't recover as Alex Fallstrom tipped in a nice pass from Marshall Everson that made its way through the crease and Fallstrom got the Crimson its first lead of the game. Colgate had a 12-10 shot advantage after the first period of play.

Danny Biega increased the lead to 3-1 in the final seconds of Harvard's first power play of the night, which came in midway through the second. Colgate controlled the play during most of the man advantage, but Biega got free at the blueline and beat Mihalik. Huxley and Conor Morrison were credited with the helpers. Harvard went up 4-1 with another late goal in the second period. Killorn had a nice individual effort beating many Colgate defenders and then sent the puck through Evin for the commanding lead.

The Raiders cut into the lead early in the final frame on Brisebois' eighth of the season on a nice one-timer down low, which made it 4-2. Brian Day slid the puck to Brisebois to set up the slapper and was given an assist, along with Austin Smith. The goal came 1:25 into the period.

The Crimson closed out the scoring with a pair of empty net goals in the last two minutes to earn two points on its fourth ECAC Hockey win of the year. Morrison got the first goal with assists to Killorn and Michael Biega, while Danny Biega got the hat trick, shorthanded, with four seconds left. Huxley was given the assist.

The Raiders outshot the Crimson by a 29-25 margin, while Harvard scored the lone power play goal. The Crimson had two opportunities with the extra man and Colgate register three chances, but couldn't capitalize.

The Raiders will travel north to take on 18th-ranked Dartmouth tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Thompson Arena. The Big Green took on the Big Red of Cornell tonight and the teams played to a 2-2 tie.
