BETHLEHEM, P.A. (1/20/10) – C.J. McCollum scored 18 of his 29 points in the second half to go along with seven rebounds as Lehigh overcame a five-point deficit to defeat Colgate, 74-60, Wednesday night.
McCollum scored eight points during a 15-3 Lehigh run in the second half that gave the Mountain Hawks a 66-52 lead with 2:55 left.

Yaw Gyawu (Lilburn, Ga.) led Colgate with 19 points, and senior guard
Kyle Roemer (Martinez, Calif.) had 16. Senior forward

Mitch Rolls (Coffeyville, Kan.) each pitched in 10 points.
Lehigh jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the early portion of the game. Later in the half Colgate sprang for a 9-2 run capped by a three-pointer from Jonson that handed the Raiders a 20-19 edge. The lead changed hands twice before Lehigh forward Zahir Carrington scored seven consecutive points to give the Mountain Hawks a 30-27 halftime lead.
Roemer opened the second half with a three-pointer and Rolls scored five straight points to bring the lead back in Colgate's possession at 35-30 with 18:34 remaining. Dave Buchberger ended the Colgate run with a three-pointer and Marquis Hall knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game. Both teams struggled to claim a commanding lead until McCollum led Lehigh on a 15-3 run to take control of the game.
Gabe Knutson scored 12 points for Lehigh, while Carrington scored 11 and Buchberger 10. Hall scored nine points and dished seven assists.
Colgate (5-13, 1-3) will face Bucknell on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cotterell Court. The game can be seen live on Patriot League All-Access.
