Colgate Athletics announced the addition of Jasmine Johnson as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance in February 2019. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning in October 2019.

Johnson works with Paul Helsel, Director of Strength and Conditioning, in managing the strength and conditioning responsibilities for Women's Soccer, Men’s & Women’s Ice Hockey, Softball, Field Hockey and Men's & Women's Tennis. Johnson is the first Woman of Color to work with any Division I Men’s Ice Hockey program. She also took over the strength and conditioning internship program in June 2020.

Johnson came to Colgate after brief stint at Infiniti Elite Gymnastics as the Junior Olympic gymnastics strength and conditioning coach. During her time there, she implemented strength and conditioning programs for Junior Olympic gymnasts, focusing on proper technique to enhance their strength and quickness. Prior to that, Johnson was at Rutgers University where she trained Women’s Gymnastics, Women’s Golf & Women’s Lacrosse.

A native of Smithtown, New York, Johnson earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Temple University, where she was a two-time All-American in gymnastics. She became the first freshman in school history to win the ECAC championship on the floor exercise and earn All-America status in the vault in 2011. Johnson is the only Temple woman gymnast to win two conference titles on the floor exercise.

Johnson earned her master's degree in Higher Education Administration in 2017 from Stony Brook University, where she was named Interim Assistant Director of Athletic Performance for Football and served as a Graduate Assistant in Sports Performance for Football and Men’s & Women’s Track & Field.

Johnson is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and holds a certification in USA Weight Lifting (USAW) as well as being CPR/AED certified.
