Before Colgate
Breanne Wilson-Bennett was named as an assistant coach on the Colgate women’s hockey staff in August 2023.

After one season as an assistant coach, Wilson-Bennett has now been a part of both of the program’s Frozen Four runs, one as a student-athlete in 2018 and the other last season behind the bench.

She traded her skates for a clipboard after spending four years on the ice as a Colgate student-athlete from 2014-2018. During her time at Colgate, she played a pivotal part in the program’s first-ever Frozen Four appearance and only NCAA Championship game, as well as the historic first ECAC title. She also captained the 2017-18 squad during her senior year, earning the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Championship game.

After her collegiate career, Wilson-Bennett played for MODO, a professional hockey club in Sweden’s SDHL, and won an Isobel Cup Championship with Toronto Six in the PHL this past season.

Wilson-Bennett has also spent time coaching, serving one year as an assistant coach with the women’s ice hockey program at Union College and taking on coaching duties with the Durham West and Markham youth hockey organizations. She has also dedicated four years to her role as the Director of Player Development at HyperFit in Toronto.

A native of Markham, Ontario, Wilson-Bennett graduated from Colgate in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in educational studies and history.
