Ashlynne Rando was named a Volunteer Assistant Coach on the Colgate Women’s Hockey staff in July 2018.
In her first season in the role, the Raiders soared to a 23-win campaign and a number two seed in the ECAC Tournament. They also opened the season with their highest preseason ranking in program history at number five in the country.
Rando is no stranger to Hamilton, as her name is scattered all over the program’s record books in goaltending categories. She is second in Raider history with 5507:00 minutes played in her career, third in program history with 2,459 saves and is tied for fourth with 32 victories.
After she graduated, Rando returned to her native Texas for one year. There, she was an assistant and goalie coach for the Houston Wild Hockey Club and also served as a professional educator with The Monarch School and Institute.
She returned to the Empire State in 2017, where she was an assistant and goalie coach with Selects Academy in Rochester. She also served as the director of the 2017 North American Prospects Showcase (NAPS) camp.
She graduated from Colgate University in 2016 with a degree in Environmental Geology.
