At Colgate
Pat Moore ’15 was named the assistant coach for Colgate Men's Basketball in August 2018.

During his time in Hamilton, Moore has guided the development of four Patriot League Players of the Year, 10 first-time All-Patriot League players, a Scholar-Athlete of the Year, two Defensive Players of the Year, one Rookie of the Year, and several All-Rookie, All-Defense, All-District, and All-League selections.

In 2019, Moore was honored by the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) on the Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team, representing 30 of the most outstanding men's college basketball coaches under the age of 30.

Colgate claimed its first Patriot League championship in more than two decades in 2018-19 and has since claimed five Patriot League championships, five NCAA tournament appearances, five regular season championships, and five 20-win campaigns under Moore's assistance. The Raiders have advanced to three NCAA tournaments as a No. 14 seed, their highest rank in program history.

Moore was promoted to assistant coach after spending one year as the team's director of operations in 2017-18.

Moore has also served as a Mohawk Valley Elite AAU head coach and camp counselor for the New York Knicks basketball camp.

Before Colgate
Moore spent two seasons as the assistant coach at Morrisville State College. He helped lead the 2016-17 team to a NEAC Championship and NCAA appearance as the Mustangs finished the season with a 22-7 record. Moore identified and recruited standout Kevin Dennis, who was named the NEAC Rookie of the Year, the D3Hoops East Region Rookie of the Year, ECAC Sports North Rookie of the Year and HERO Sports D3 Newcomer of the Year.

Prior to the Mustang’s 2016-17 conference title, Moore guided the 2015-16 team to a 19-8 record and a NEAC championship game appearance. While at Morrisville, Moore was responsible for game day preparation, opponent scouting, evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes and assisting in the supervision of the players’ academics.

Moore, originally from nearby Whitesboro, N.Y., graduated from Colgate University in 2015 and holds two bachelor’s degrees in history and sociology/anthropology. He completed his master's degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in 2019.

Playing Experience
Pat Moore returned to Colgate on the coaching staff after spending five seasons (2010-2015) as a student-athlete in the Maroon and White. A three-year starting shooting guard and two-time team captain, he concluded his career ranked second all-time in Colgate history in career 3-point percentage (40.6%) and sixth in career 3-point field goals made (188).

Moore helped change the culture of the Raiders by increasing win totals in each of his years as a student-athlete. He led Colgate to its best season since 1996 and a program-record number of Patriot League wins at the time as a senior in 2014-15. Moore finished his career with 923 points. Strong off the court as well, the history and sociology/anthropology double major earned Dean’s List distinction and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status twice during his Colgate career.
