During the summer of 2025, the NCAA and defendant conferences settled the House, Hubbard, and Carter cases with the intention of opening a pathway to begin the stabilization of college sports for the future. Significant changes in NCAA legislation and governance have already been enacted to implement the terms of this settlement, ultimately providing a modernized framework for the NCAA membership in support of its student-athletes. While challenges and uncertainty will remain as member schools and the NCAA continue to navigate this transition, the information below is intended to provide the Colgate community with foundational information related to the settlement and its potential impact.
