Colgate Stumbles in Patriot League Opener

Perone nets first collegiate goal


HAMILTON - The women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to Lafayette in its Patriot League opener at Beyer-Small '76 Field on Saturday evening.

MOMENTS OF THE MATCH
  • Lafayette took an early lead with a penalty in the seventh minute.
  • Colgate responded with consistent pressure with shots from Molly Richards and Jocelyn Rowe finding the target.
  • Fiorella Perone broke through and equalized for the Raiders after stealing a poor Leopard pass and rounding the keeper before finding the back of the net.
  • The score remained knotted at one at the half.
  • Bianca Howitt and Lydia Thornton each nearly put Colgate ahead in the second half.
