HAMILTON – Colgate scored on its first three possessions to build an early cushion and kept Cornell at bay in the second half to secure a 20-7 win on Saturday at Andy Kerr Stadium.
Danny Shaban led the ground attack with 134 rushing yards and a touchdown—marking his second 100-yard performance of the season—while
Matt Fogler hauled in a career-high eight receptions for 137 yards. Fogler set the tone early with an 85-yard touchdown strike on Colgate's second play from scrimmage, giving the Raiders a lead they would never relinquish.
Colgate's league-leading defense posted three interceptions for the second time this season, holding Cornell scoreless through three quarters and limiting the Big Red to just 238 yards of total offense. Linebacker
Christian Magliacano anchored the unit with a team-high nine tackles, two tackles for loss, and an interception.

- Q1 (12:57): Colgate needed just two plays to strike first as Jake Stearney hit Fogler on an 85-yard touchdown pass down the sideline, with Fogler sprinting the final 50 yards untouched for a 7-0 lead.
- Q1 (0:55): Following a 4th-and-1 defensive stop on the fringe of the red zone, Shaban capped a 14-play, 78-yard march with an eight-yard touchdown run, consuming 7:24 of clock to push the lead to 14-0.

- Q4 (10:22): Cornell broke the shutout on a six-yard touchdown run by Jordan Triplett, capping a 12-play, 87-yard drive to trim the margin to 20-7.

- Colgate scored on its opening possession for the third time in four games this season. After opening the year with a field goal at Fordham, the Raiders have found the end zone on their first drive in back-to-back home contests.
- The Raiders pitched a first-half shutout for the second consecutive week.
- Jake Stearney's 85-yard touchdown pass to Matt Fogler stands as the fourth-longest passing play in program history – just one yard shy of the 86-yard connections from Grant Breneman to Owen Rockett vs. Bucknell (2018) and Tom Burgess to Tim Walsh vs. Cornell (1985).
- Danny Shaban now has 953 rushing yards at Colgate, on pace to become the 38th player in program history to reach 1,000. Shaban registered his second career 100-yard rushing performance – both coming this season – after racking up a career-high 214 yards in the opener at Fordham.
- Saturday's crowd of 5,287 marks the fourth-highest attendance at Andy Kerr Stadium since welcoming 7,753 fans for the Bicentennial Kickoff Weekend on Sept. 22, 2018. It also represents Colgate's first home crowd to surpass 5,000 spectators since Sept. 21, 2019, against Maine (5,606).
- Colgate logged multiple interceptions for the third consecutive game. After leading the Patriot League with 15 interceptions last season, the Raiders pace the conference again this year with eight.
