BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The women's rowing team had First Varsity Eight two members named to the All-League Team.
Marie Clausen was named as a First Team member as
Rebecca Carew was dubbed as a Second Team selection.
Clausen garnered her second Patriot League First Team selection after her performance this season. A team captain, sitting in the stroke seat for the Raiders, was the pace-setter of the team for the entire season. She started the year by stroking the Head of the Charles Club Four, leading the Raiders to a 10th place finish out of 53 crews. Notable spring season races the senior contributed in were the NY State Championships, helping the team take first place, becoming back-to-back champions at this event. She also helped the Raiders defeat Lehigh on their senior day. In addition to taking a fifth place finish in the 1V8+ in the Patriot League Championship.
Carew, sitting in the seven-seat behind Clausen, emulates the stroke's rhythm helping pass the pace down the boat. She helped lead the HOCR Club Four to a top ten finish in the Fall. Carew was a stellar 1V8+ member all-year as she too was a contributing factor in the team's back-to-back champions finish at the NY State Championships. She also helped the team to a fifth place finish at the Knecht Cup and Patriot League Championship. Her success contributed to being one of the team's top performers on the erg over the course of the season.
Clausen was named to the Patriot League First Team for the second consecutive year, while Carew received the honor for the first time in her career. Colgate's season is not over, however, as it will travel to England to compete in the Reading Amateur Regatta on June 13–14 and the Women's Henley Regatta on June 19–21.
