Clare Gillis looks to defend her 200m title

BOSTON, Mass. - Colgate's indoor track and field teams are set to travel to the 2025-26 Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Mass. The teams will compete on Saturday, Feb. 28th and Sunday, Mar. 1st.

The Raiders are entering the weekend with titles to defend and have been breaking records, both personal and for Colgate, throughout the season.

Senior Clare Gillis looks to defend her title in the 200m after taking gold at the 2024-25 Patriot Indoor Track and Field Championships. Gillis posted her 2025-26 season best at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, logging in a time of 24.61s. Her personal record still stands at the previous championships at 24.49s. Fellow senior Sara Tabibian has also shown strong performance in the 200m, earning her season best at the Penn Classic with a time of 25.89s. Tabibian found another season best at the Penn Classic in the 400m, running the race in 58.44s.

Both the men's and women's teams have shown strength and depth in the 3000m this spring. Dakin Ebmeyer and John Griffith have had the fastest times for the men's side, while Nell Droege and Ava Kletti are solid representatives on the women's side.

Kiran George broke her own indoor high jump school record at the Penn Classic with a jump of 1.73m, and is looking to come out on top this weekend.

Samuel Epstein has proven himself to be one of Colgate's most notable pole vaulters throughout the season. After setting a new school record at the 2024-25 Patriot Indoor Track and Field Championships with a vault of 4.70, Epstein has broken that record single-handedly three more times since. The senior reached a jump of 4.75m at the Suffolk Ice Breaker, followed by a new record vault of 4.85m at the Dr. Sander Columbia Scorcher. Epstein's latest school record was set at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, where he secured gold with a leap of 4.90m. He will look to continue his record breaking season in Boston this weekend.

The women's side is not to be counted out in the pole vault event either as junior Melinda Haagensen has broken both school and personal records. Haagensen placed fifth last year at the indoor championships and set her personal best of 3.72m at the outdoor championships. She reached a new height of 3.70m at the Suffolk Ice Breaker in the beginning of the season, and has shown improvement by setting a new school standard, and personal best, of 4.05m at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
