HAMILTON – Georgetown scored 27 unanswered points to spoil Colgate's homecoming weekend with a 27-17 decision Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium.
Colgate raced out to a 10-0 lead in the opening quarter and extended its advantage to 17-0 early in the second. Georgetown cut into the deficit with a touchdown before the break, then completely took control of the final two quarters to outscore Colgate 20-0 after halftime.
Entering the afternoon 10-0 against the Hoyas in Hamilton, Colgate suffered both its first home loss and its first Patriot League setback of the season. Though the Raiders still hold a 20-3 lead in the all-time series, Georgetown has now claimed back-to-back wins over Colgate.
Georgetown outgained Colgate 241-80 in the final two quarters.
Moments of the Game
- Q1 (4:16) | Following early three-and-outs by both sides, Luke Vogeler drilled a 22-yard field goal to put the Raiders on the board, capping a 13-play, 56-yard drive that was extended by a Georgetown unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on 3rd-and-long.

- Q4 (10:37) | Georgetown capitalized on a dominant defensive stretch that held Colgate to 19 total third-quarter yards, taking its first lead of the game, 21-17, on a 3-yard touchdown run by Hassan Mahasin early in the final frame.
- Q4 (2:11) | Colgate picked up its second first down of the second half late in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard completion to Matt Fogler on 3rd-and-10. The Raiders' drive stalled at the Georgetown 16-yard line, however, following an incomplete pass on 4th-and-long.
