Swim & Dive Completes Dual Action at St. Bonaventure

Raiders post three wins, 17 podium finishes on the road

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The Colgate University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed on the road Saturday afternoon, taking on St. Bonaventure in a dual meet at the Reilly Center Pool. 

The Colgate women racked up nine podium finishes, including a pair of golds from MG King and Paige Fisher. The men's team landed seven podiums led by Michael Granin's first-place tally.

Women's Recap

The Colgate women were led by a standout performance from King, who captured first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.98, edging out the field in one of the tightest races of the meet. King's first-place time broke the pool record by nearly four seconds. 


King also contributed to Colgate's second-place finish in the 200 medley relay, teaming with Regan Hau, Audrey Collins, and Heather O'Day to post a time of 1:48.40.

Paige Fisher delivered a strong all-around effort, placing third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.85) and earning a victory in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.83. Fisher was one of several Raiders to compete in multiple events on the day.

Katie Miller was one of four Raiders to secure a bronze finish, as she took third in the 200 Free with a time of 1:56.23. In addition to Fisher's third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, Addisyn Donfris and Adrienne Hagins secured bronze in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. 

On the diving boards, Colgate was paced by Ellie Sundin, who led the Raiders on the 1-meter board with a score of 233.63. Ayla Abbasi recorded Colgate's top finish on the 3-meter board, scoring 203.48, while Scarlett Kaplan and Kathryn Hoover added valuable depth in both events.

Men's Recap

The Colgate men were highlighted by a first-place finish from Granin, who won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.28. Granin also anchored the Raiders' 200 freestyle relay squad, which finished second with a time of 1:26.23, with David Brophy, Jack Lira, and Jack Schurtz-Ford


In individual events, the Raiders placed five athletes on the bronze podium. Connor O'Neil took third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.72, while Matt Freund and Brophy captured third place in the 200-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle, respectively. 

On the boards, Nick Pompo led Colgate's diving efforts, scoring 284.78 on the 1-meter and 271.73 on the 3-meter to pace the Raiders in both events.

Colgate heads to Boston University for the Winter Open Feb. 6-7 as a final tune-up before the Patriot League championship Feb. 18-21 hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md.
