Raiders Topple Le Moyne in Dual Meet

Colgate racks up nine victories in 162-80 victory

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eight different Raiders won events and the Colgate women's swimming and diving team racked up 11 total victories including two pool records in defeating Le Moyne 162-80 on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Colgate's relay teams set pool records in the 400 Medley and 400 Free. The medley quartet kicked things off, led by Allie Phillips, Maggie O'Shaughnessy, Adrienne Hagins, and Lucy Art, with a new pool pace and a first-place time of 4:01.55. 


Colgate's 400 Free Relay team of Natalie Hofer, Heather O'Day, Phillips, and Art also secured a pool record with a first-place finish in 3:40.03, topping its second-place B quartet by four seconds. 

O'Day, Hofer, Katie Miller, Art, Phillips, Fisher, Audrey Collins, and Ellie Sundin all won individual events on the day. O'Day sparked the Raiders with a first-place finish in the 200 Free, clocking in with a time of 1:59.12 to earn gold. Hofer captured the top spot in the 50 Free with a blazing time of 24.71. 

Miller continued her strong first-year campaign with a time of 2:11.96 in the 200 IM, striking gold by nearly two seconds over her teammate and second-place finisher Julia Quernemoen. Art picked up her second gold of the day and first as an individual in the 100 Fly, touching the wall in 59.17 seconds.

The Raiders dominated the freestyle events, striking gold in the 100 (Phillips; 54.45) and 500 (Fisher; 5:17.63). Collins claimed the top spot on the podium in the 100 Breast, touching the wall in 1:05.57 to best her opponent and nearest competitor by two-tenths of a second. 

Sundin swept the 1-Meter and 3-Meter diving competition, which took place at Lineberry Natatorium. Sundin took first in the 1-Meter with a score of 246.38, followed by a first-place score of 239.63 in the 3-Meter.
