Back-to-back Rookie nods after three-touchdown game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off his three-touchdown performance at Lafayette College last Saturday, Colgate University football first-year wide receiver Matt Fogler was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Fogler became Colgate's first player since Thomas Ives '19 to rack up three touchdown receptions in a game. He caught five passes for 77 yards including a long of 17 yards. The emerging first-year has four touchdowns with seven receptions for 97 yards over his last two games against Merrimack and Lafayette.

The first-year made an extra effort to break tackles and outrun defenders during his first score of the day – a 34-yard touchdown to put the Raiders on the board. He was also on the receiving end of Jackson Kilburg's first career touchdown pass – an 18-yard strike in the fourth quarter – for his third score.

This is Fogler's second consecutive week earning Patriot League Rookie honors. In nine games played he has 16 receptions for 243 yards, good for a 15.19 average per reception, with four touchdowns.
