HAMILTON – Colgate women's ice hockey scored early and often on Tuesday afternoon, hanging 12 goals on the Syracuse Orange behind 10 multi-point performers.
Kas Betinol led the way on offense, setting a new career-high four goals on four shots. Two of those goals were assisted by
Sara Stewart, who finished with a personal-best four points in her first start of the season.
"I was just trying to get the puck on net," said Betinol. "Luckily, they all went in. But it was so great to score a lot of goals for all the kids in the stands."
A season-high 1,546 were in attendance to witness the Raiders juice the Orange at the Class of 1965 Arena. Most of them were young students from 11 elementary schools in the Upstate New York area.
"It was an awesome environment today," Betinol continued. "You could see the kids dancing in the stands during the game and it really gave us a lot of energy."
Allyson Simpson was another Raider energized by the atmosphere, putting together her second four-point performance of the season with three assists and a buzzer-beating goal to close the second period.
Kristýna Kaltounková ended with an identical statline to Simpson, assisting on both of first-year Kaia Malachino's goals that came as part of the first four-point outing of her career. Fellow first-year Ella Belfry chipped in her first collegiate point, a secondary assist on one of Dara Greig's two goals.
Hannah Murphy and Averoll McCorkle strung together a combined shutout, with Murphy making 11 saves in two periods of action.

The Raiders return to the ice on Friday when they kick off a home-and-home with No. 9 Cornell in Ithaca at 6 p.m. They will head back to the Class of 1965 Arena on Saturday for a 3 p.m. game against the Big Red in Hamilton.

- Colgate set a new program record for most points in a game as a team, ending with 34 points against the Orange.
- The 12 point explosion marks the second highest goal total in one game in program history, one shy of a 13-0 win against RIT in 2021.
- Tessa Holk, Sara Stewart, and Kas Betinol all earned their first starts of the season versus Syracuse, ending the day with a combined four goals, six assists and 10 points.
- The Raiders also broke the program record for most assists in a game with 22, beating the mark of 19 set in January of 2023 in a 10-0, 19 assist win against Union.
