Breneman Tops 1,000 Career Rushing Mark

Raiders Fall 40-8 at Fordham; Colgate QB Rushes for Score

BRONX, N.Y. – Grant Breneman rushed for a touchdown and became the 36th member of Colgate's career 1,000-yard rushing club during Saturday's 40-8 loss at Fordham.

Breneman scored the Raiders' lone TD on a fourth-down, 1-yard carry midway in the third quarter. His two-point conversion pass to Nick Draught pulled Colgate within 24-8 and kept hopes alive on the Raider sideline.

But Fordham answered with touchdown drives of nine plays and eight plays to leave no doubt and defeat the Raiders for the first time since 2016.

The Rams intercepted five Colgate passes on the day, including one off a tipped ball that Jeremy Imperati corralled and waltzed 3 yards into the end zone for a 14-0 Fordham lead in the first quarter. Fordham's defense scored 17 points off seven Colgate turnovers.

Jordan Jefferson was the Colgate tackle leader with nine, including six solos. Jared Petrichick added eight tackles, two of which teamed with Owen Rosenberger for a pair of sacks. William Gruber picked off his first collegiate pass, making his grab in the end zone to prevent another Rams score.

Breneman finished with 19 carries for 75 yards, boosting his career rushing total to 1,010.
